Overheating issues with Nvidia's Blackwell 🧐🤔

Below is the updated information👇👇👇
Updated on 11/18/2024 06:00 - Company statement
Nvidia's new Blackwell ai chip is already facing delays and encountering issues with overheating servers, leading some customers to worry that they may not have enough time to launch and operate new datacenters, as reported by Information on Sunday.
The report states that when connected to server racks designed to accommodate up to 72 chips, Blackwell's graphic processing units overheat, citing sources familiar with the issue.
Nvidia employees who have been dealing with this issue, as well as customers and suppliers aware of the problem, have stated that the chip maker has requested several times for suppliers to modify rack designs to solve the overheating issue, as reported without mentioning the suppliers' names.
"Nvidia is collaborating with major cloud idc service providers as an essential part of our engineering team and process. The company's spokesperson stated to Reuters, 'Engineering iterations are common and as expected.'"
In March, Nvidia announced the Blackwell chip and had previously announced shipping in the second quarter before any delays occurred. This could potentially impact customers such as Meta platform META.O, Alphabet's GOOGL.O, Google, Microsoft's MSFT.O, and others.
Nvidia's Blackwell chip combines two squares of silicon the same size as the products the company previously offered into one component, achieving a 30x speedup in tasks such as responses from chatbots.
