What lies ahead for the world economy?
Goldman Sachspredicts the global economy willtop expectations in 2024, driven by strong income growth and confidence that the worst of rate hikes are behind us. The investment bank forecasts the world economy to grow by an average of 2.6% next year, surpassing the 2.1% consensus forecast of economists polled by Bloomberg.
However,S&P Globalholds a different perspective. According to them, while central banks around the world have reached their peak cyclical policy rates, most still have a bias towards tightening. Furthermore, they expect most major economies, including the US, to experience weaker economic growth in 2024.
What lies ahead for the US stock market?
Mike Wilson, a strategist atMorgan Stanley, believes that US equities will eventuallyrecover their earningspotential in 2024. Wilson is forecasting earnings to growby 7%year over year in 2024, with top-line growth reaching between4% and 5%.
"We think quality companies with a high return on invested capital, strong balance sheets, and reliable income streams will still grow earnings despite a tougher operating backdrop," saidUBS.
Is the bond market still worth considering?
"It's a good time to be a bond investor, but it's a complicated environment," said Steve Boothe, Portfolio Manager ofT. Rowe Price. "Short duration and intermediate duration high-quality assets, among other sectors of the bond market,offer both income and the potential for price appreciation".
Will positivity persist in tech and commodities?
BlackRockhas stated that "2023 was the year AI exploded onto the scene, but we believe AI adoption is just beginning". The portfolio manager, Dom Rizzo, fromT. Rowe Price, argues that the AI buildout is revolutionizing the data center market and could potentially bethe most significant productivity boosterfor the global economy since electricity.

Suppose I missed the bull run towards the end as I was playing too safe amid past heart pains and lessons. But then as the saying goes better safe than having to catch up on the loses which till date I am still catching up my lost made on my EV investment. EV is really a devil at least to my wallet lol
