Today is the second day of 2025, finally ending the unforgettable 2024. Throughout 2024, I experienced events big and small, some happy and some disappointing. But to sum up 2024, I would call it: lucky.

So why was it lucky? Let me tell you. At the beginning of 2024, things weren't going well for me. I suffered a severe setback, not just in January of 2024, but starting from the end of November 2023, I had been in a losing streak until January. Why did I suffer such a big failure? The main reasons were in two aspects and the use of other derivative tools. First, on November 20th, I saw $XIAOMI-W (01810.HK)$ I watched it rise all the way and I couldn't help myself.

Next, of course, my beloved stock Tesla. The situation with Tesla was similar to Xiaomi. When Tesla's stock price, which had reached $400 in June 2023, fell back to $220 in October 2023, according to my investment principle, I could make a large-scale entry when the drop exceeded 20%. So, in November 2023, at the $200 level, I entered in batches with my remaining 50%. I thought that even if it couldn't reach $400, I could at least target $300. However, from November 2023, it didn't rise to $300 as I had expected but kept falling until January 2, 2024, when it finally stopped. During this time, my losses amounted to 50%. I had to resort to derivative instruments to short Tesla in a trend-following manner to hedge against this high-risk decline, but the losses were still frightening and unstoppable.

Many people must be curious - with Xiaomi and Tesla causing losses of up to 50% in just 3 months, how can I still persist and why do I hold onto these losing stocks? This is where my confidence in my investment portfolio comes into play.

Although the pressure of losses during this period has made me restless, and I have also contemplated all the sad thoughts that everyone has mentioned. But after all, I am a professionally trained professional investor, and my psychological resilience in investment is outstanding. When I feel pessimistic, I always ask myself 2 questions:

1. Why do I want to buy it?: The personal charm of Lei Jun and Elon Musk, the popularity of Su7, and Tesla's future product planning.

2. Does buying it represent the future?: Xiaomi represents the new force of China's entry into the production of high-tech products, and the sense of the future brought by Tesla's future AI technology.

I repeatedly use these two questions to ask myself, which is the method that helps me get through this difficult three months. After I firmly determine the importance of the two companies, I believe that my choice will not be wrong. So, the more they fall, the more I buy, and the larger the amount becomes. In the end, I even used leverage of up to 2 times to add positions (not recommended ~ if used improperly, you may end up with nothingEventually, as everyone has seen, both Tesla and Xiaomi rebounded completely at the end of January.

Finally, after January, I will refer to the remaining months as the time for counterattack! When I saw the official release of Su7 and the launch of new products by Tesla (investing requires observing various news and the behavior content of founders 🌟 very important! ‼️), I became more convinced that both stocks will break through highs and charge ahead starting in February 2024. So, I not only increased leverage by 2 times but also added many options. In terms of leverage multiples, it is as high as 5 times, which is an extremely high-risk decision. This trend-following approach combined with high leverage has led to a win rate of up to 80% until the end of December 2024, the strongest one in my 10-year investment career. Therefore, my conclusion for 2024 is: lucky, because although, as I said, I persisted based on two principles, if I didn't stick to the principles I imagined, and followed a similar $Alibaba (BABA.US)$ So I won't have the mood to talk so much or share too much with everyone today. How lucky everything is, it is also the fruit brought to me by my persistence and bravery.
