2024 Lessons Learnt For a Better 2025
2024 has been a year of ups and downs but mostly down for me.
total position has come to a nett loss of 35k mainly due to my holdings in $GENM (4715.MY)$ which constitutes almost 66% of my portfolio.
A series of bad news that engulfed $GENM (4715.MY)$ for the past year: fire that broke out in the indoor theme park, the lawsuit by its partner in USA and the subsequent disqualification from the bursa klci 30 has hammered down genm price and that really hurts my portfolio. In view of this , i have decided to divest about 6000 units of my genm into dividend stocks such as $INNO (6262.MY)$ which coincidentally has performed and rally well in 2024 mainly due to favourable CPO price towards the end of Fourth quarter this year.
Dividends payout from innoprise has also been stable and satisfactory.
Going into 2025 i will
1) continue to hold genm given its improving financial performance for the past few quarters, stable dividend payout , improving tourism outlook for malaysia
2) add on innoprise to increase my baseline dividends payout which i hope will increase given the favourable outlook for palm oil
3) continue to reinvest in $RGB (0037.MY)$ which initially was chosen as a growth stock but had surprisingly been quite decent in dividends which at current payout is around 6% based on my entry price. will reinvest dividend received as time goes on
4) continue to accumuate both malakoff and qes where both prices have come down considerably
throughout this investing journey moomoo screener tools has been very helpful especially in helping me to identify companies with good fundamentals. which in my criteria are high ROE, high EPS growth yoy , decent dividend yield and low debt to equit ratio. hopefully this will help me further in 2025 in identifying more good companies. ![]()
