2024 Mid Year New Investor Recap
I just started investment starting 15th Apr 2024, so far 8.07 %… believed it’s a not bad as for a beginner.
Had a great roller coaster journey in this month Jun 2024, and a great learning.
Early stage of my investment, I started with invest solely in Malaysia market which is ouch ouch experience. I bought on Gold ETF, and several construction and banking industries share and RED is my first week’s colour.
I then started to step out from Malaysia market and try out US market, first started with ETF with small gains and I keep on selling once I saw small profit due to my unpleasant start.
Then I started to be greedy and slowly moving to higher risk stocks (mainly focus on AI, semiconductor, tech stocks). In the month of May, I still keep 50% of my stocks in Malaysia market and 50% in US market. However, I saw most of my profit is from the US than helps me cover over the Malaysia’s loss and started to cut loss. I even sold my US ETF which is a “no no”… kinda regret and will buy it back once I got some fund.
In Jun 2024, I told myself “no more short”, please don’t trade based on your emotion. And started to hold my stocks, no matter it’s going up nor down. The witch day does affect my mental badly but day-by-day, I started to get used to it, as my goal is to hold the stocks for few years, not few days.
Since most of my stocks are under semi-conductor, AI and tech. I planned to diversify my portfolio next, focus on ETF and Drug sector as my next plan.
