10baggerbamm Trademark-17 : if you go on to Moo Moo they have a educational section and one of the sections explains options in full detail.
it explains all of the terms the differences the risk and it explains different strategies that one can use and yours would be called selling a covered call.
I would encourage you to seek that out.
you also need to have round lots in order to do it an odd lot you cannot do it so you need at least 100 shares or 200 shares on odd lots options do not work you cannot sell calls against a position in an odd lot
