31 Oct: Have decided to close all my positions as October comes to an end, calling it a year and taking a break till Xmas..
The risks of the US election, Tech Earnings missing estimates, and the NFP, triple whammy is too much to take.
Markets are near ATH and looking for a picture perfect finish. No one is perfect and so are the markets. The margin for error this time round is just too thin and any misses in any of the events may lead to a fall in the deck of cards.
I do believe no one can always capture the top and call the bottom. And the rule is to always protect your gains.
Have decided that the prudent measure would be to take profit and locked in the gains for the year.
It's been a good year 2024, $E-mini S&P 500 Futures(DEC4) (ESmain.US)$ is up more than 20% this year, couldn't have asked for more.
Looking forward for the storm to past in next few weeks and better clarity will present itself to how we can position our portfolio forward towards 2025.
