48% of Israeli citizens support a preemptive attack against Iran and Hezbollah, according to a public opinion poll.

According to a public opinion survey conducted by Israel's 103FM radio, nearly half of the population (48%) supports a preemptive attack on Hezbollah in Iran and Lebanon.

However, according to the survey, about 34% of Israelis only support an attack if Israel is attacked first.

Since last week, Israel has been preparing for retaliatory attacks from Iran and its allies following the killings of several leaders including Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has promised that Iran will deliver 'severe retribution'.
