After Hezbollah attacked Israeli intelligence bases, its leader said time would resolve whether “deterrence” had been restored.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah gave a televised address after a fierce shootout between the Lebanese group and Israel.

The Hezbollah attack on Sunday was carried out in response to Israel's assassination of senior military commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut last month.

Israel stated that it had launched a preemptive strike at Hezbollah facilities in Lebanon before the attack began, and denied that there was no major damage to Israel.

Al Jazeera reporter Zeina Hodor, reporting from Beirut, said Nasrallah accused “the Israeli government of covering up losses and casualties.”
