I have been doing some feedback gathering after the event. below are the summary
1) The investor was disappointed with robotaxi as it got delayed again.
2) and they see the car are not yet close to finished product
3) robovan was cool, but it is not something new, which many companies have showcased a similar concept b4.
4) The humanoid optimus is too human to be a robot, many say it is human talking over the remote . Elon did not respond to any of these claims.
5) Elon's presentation is too rushed, does not prepare, and makes the investor lose confidence .
below are MHO;
1) no matter if the launch was good or not, investors just want to cash out, period! so don't blame the launch. if can just catch the price while still low
2) maybe other manufacturers like waymo, baidu already have robo taxi running. but I believe only Tesla can scale it up! go check the fact how these companies are paying the losses behind their innovation technology. Tesla may be late, but he is building a sustainable business model. not just for show.
3) I see great potential in robovan, and I'm will hope Tesla to launch robovan before robotaxi. Fact is, robovan don't need to make million of production on the road, and it can rent it by demand only, second. it can easily adopt by corporate or company as a commercial van, it can make more profit that taxi I would say. and I believe the cost of the robovan maybe just slightly bit costly than the robotaxi, but the profit could be better than a taxi.
so going back to the overall event, Elon Musk gave us a glimpse into the future how we could have. and I was impressed they could pull that up with all the cars and robots running around the place.
I would say the event is a successful sum-up from tesla. without saying.
yes, I do agree Tesla may not benefit from these visions in coming years. but isn't investing about a 3 to 5 year plan? if you have a million to fund a company. which may give you return in 3 years time. would you put on Tesla or some unicorn.
so I believe Tesla is not a short term stock. if you buy, you better make sure this will take time.
for me. 50% of my fund is inside Tesla.
