A short question
$NVIDIA(NVDA.US$ Does "shorting" a stock actually cause the price of the stock to go down. Clearly massive selling causes the price to go down. I am finding it hard to believe the "the shorts" are the cause of a stock price drop. Any ideas?

JonSnow : if you short it, it goes up, if powerful short it, it goes down
JonSnow : just imagine something like a box spring bed, you press hard enough it goes down, but if enough counter pressure exists, you can do it just for so long and so little...
Scorched earf : There are a lot of misconceptions about shorting. It’s fun to listen to people talking about short squeeze, mother, of all short squeezes, all this nonsense. But yet they never happen

TheZooman22 OP Scorched earf : I think a lot of people blame the "shorts" for the price going down, but it is really just selling. Now that doesnt mean "they " dont put out negative info... to motivate selling.
