$Advanced Micro Devices (AMD.US)$ honestly this time round im not sure where these semicons are heading. previously before i bought.. i bought with conviction that chart tells me a possible move towards 180. but lately i have noticed, mag 7 and most other semicons have fallen off the upper wedge. would be great if someone could give some speculation (with chart preferably) where this might go, bull or bear case doesnt matter. but good to share

digimonX : Last year, from June to Oct, AMD was very sluggish. Every attempt to move higher was shorted down. Exactly the same feeling I have these few mths. When Nov (2023 I mean) came, year-end rally sparked & it ran like mad. It went from $80+ at the end of Oct 2023 to over $200 in Mar 2024. If u look at the short interest chart, the build-up now is similar to last year. I thought Nov after US election would be the rally trigger point this year. I was wrong. AMD & some other semi names are still sluggish. AMD & Micron have been the worst. At least nVidia, TSMC & Arm had run ups to all time high the last couple of mths.
I think we need the big boys to push this up enough to trigger short covering & this thing may go balistic.
pootpoot OP digimonX : u r right. even i thought the previous 140 was the bottom. never expect it further correct (the falling off upper wedge i was mentioning). that is why u can see most semicons are falling off their upper wedge. totally clueless where this can go.
digimonX pootpoot OP : I think the big boys will come back to play this. Stocks & sectors take turns to perform. Let's see if they will light up in Dec. Santa Claus rally is our next hope.
