In 2017, when Ryzen was first introduced to the world, AMD share price was USD12. Market cap was about 10-12B.

Today 277.84B. Intel was 170B undisputed leader of CPU then in 2017, now 136B.

Convinced Ryzen was a product of excellent engineering team and technology with a great CEO, started accumulating the shares over the years.

Was laughed at by many.

Look what it is today. Intel is down under.

AMD was focusing all these years to fight against Intel and has proven to be capable of delivering.

Now AMD is changing focus to AI against Nvidia. Will AMD be able to beat Nvidia in the short term? I would say no. Would it EVER beat? Who knows? But never say never as AMD has proven itself to be credible and capable competitor (against Intel).

The key is to understand is if the company has great CEO and engineer teams with great minds and insight and great product roadmaps.

Today Nvidia is a very solid company with great talents, so much more than Intel then. Compared to AMD, Nvidia delivered a 50fold increase in market cap (from 62B to 3.1T today)

Judging AMD and Nvidia, it is a very hard fight for AMD to surpass nvidia, especially with the AI moat Nvidia has created and the excellent team they have.

However as the battle continues, I believe AMD will still be able to gain minor market share from Nvidia. And that little gain of share is good enough for AMD to enjoy some good rise in share price.

A note to those who just look at P/E. Good luck to you because you will never be able to see beyond the past.

Last note, never be a fan of any company, be it Nvidia, AMD, Intel, Qualcomm. It strays you from the truth. Do your own homework.
