Nvidia rose by 172% in 2024, with a PE ratio of 50. If it performs the same as AMD year-to-date and is negative, the PE ratio would only be 18 times.

depends on investors look at it. in terms of PE, amd is higher than nvda. in terms of forward PE, amd is much lower than nvda. so i always emphasise the only reason i bought is because i think amd have a higher reward to risk ratio

There is no need to compare, and it's already Q4 of 2024, it's time to look at 2025. NVIDIA is very powerful, but AMD is not that bad either. It is currently undervalued.

TerribleInvestor : Cannot see p/e due to the acquisition by AMD. Need compare using non gaap forward p/e, in that AMD is cheaper
ZenC OP 71306996 : Why assess based on YTD instead of forward PE?
ZenC OP pootpoot : Many people buy for the same reasonalso, Amd are improving the margin
ZenC OP TerribleInvestor : Comparing P/E ratios is reasonable, but some people mislead others by relying solely on P/E as the basis for evaluation.
