they didn't downgrade it when it broke through 200 they didn't downgrade it at 174 couple of months ago they didn't downgraded 160 150 140 they're downgrading it today.
I mentioned this yesterday I think it was the days are rolling into one another
analysts suck I've said that many a times they get paid from when they put a buy recommendation on a stock and how much it moves through the course of the Year from when they had a buy recommendation.
so when you have an analyst that is downgrading AMD today where the hell were you the prior hundred points when it was falling that's the question that should be asked.
so now he's downgrading I didn't read it you can what is he saying consumer PC sales are not going to be that great well del said that micron said that so that would be old news if he says that Nvidia is coming out with a computer laptop for $3,000 that's going to have full AI built into it yeah that might take away some business but we're talking about a very high-end price point kind of like apples AI goggles 3000 bucks not a lot of people bought them in time the price comes down.
so yeah I think what Nvidia is coming out with and I don't know who's going to build them if it's Dell or they're going to make their own I don't know but that will have an adverse effect on AMD.
at the end of the day I'm not expecting great news the 27th or 28th when the earnings come out but I think is a basket the chip stocks are in a gradual upward trend they have done shit since August as a group.
collectively this group have more AI exposure than any other sector and if nothing less than reversion to the mean the stocks will trade up this up and coming year.
unless AMD cautions and misses and guides lower it should be okay I think the downside risk if Lisa blows the numbers and guides lower is $90.
if you look at micron what it's done recently from the sell off it guided lower until the back half of 2025 and yet the stock has been the best performer of all chip stocks in the past couple of weeks. ASM lithography the same thing they guided lower for 2025 they're automotive line that segment forget it that's why the stock's been getting killed AI is growing doesn't matter they marked it down now they're buying it again so I think that same mentality is going to happen to AMD I don't know if it's going to be the market leader or lager but I think it will gradually trade upwards from these levels going forward over the next couple of months

that's the game that's played and you can't anticipate a downgrade I mean look at every single company that writes research on AMD and see where they stand have they downgraded it because if they downgraded it they're going to be the first ones to upgrade it to an accumulate a market performer or a buy if they're sitting on buys and they put those byes when it was 180 190 they're going to have to downgrade it before they upgrade it again

you're completely wrong it doesn't work that way they're not putting a sell because they want to buy it you're delusional if you think that's how investing works.

Same thing seems to be happening to PANW. I think institutions want to buy up so they have their puppet analysts give a downgrade so they can justify a manipulated stock price drop prior to them loading up more.

hey so here's a lesson that you need to understand when you sit behind a trading desk you want to trade flat very seldomly do you want to build a position that's the first thing number two you want to flip for a profit as soon as possible it's easier to trade a million shares a day for two and three cents then it is to accumulate a position of 100,000 shares and hope that it trades up $1. so the vast majority of institutions that sit behind trading desks they do not build positions so when people say like you that old lady downgrade cuz they want to build a position to retail it out that's absolutely not true they make their money on volume they make their money on simultaneous trades matching the bid to the offer capturing trading flow volume or that spread of a penny or two cents and they do that millions of times throughout the day they don't want to risk capital.. by taking large positions on a company that they downgrade like you're saying it absolutely does not work that way

I think you got your phone or tablet upside down it's hardly bullish. it definitely triggered a lot of institutional selling today. for hedge funds shorting pick your poison. this was not a downgrade with an increase in the price Target like has happened several times this week with other stocks this was a downgrade saying that they will miss their earnings and they will be guiding lower at the end of this month. so it's a pretty bold stance I've said it before and I'll say it again their consumer computer division is going to be down it will miss numbers they're gaming is only going to be up single digits for growth. I think the analyst is looking at comments from Dell AMD sells the Dell AMD. Dell said consumer electronics was weak and they guided lower for the next quarter or so in that division micron said the same thing so it doesn't take a rocket scientist to put two and two together and go AMD is going to be light they're going to have to guide lower because if micron is and Dell is well Andy is also. their AI business is going to do well there's no question about that will it exceed the estimates and will they guide that division higher?? that's the million dollar question and like I said will Wall Street excuse lightness in the computer side the computer sales side for consumers because the stock is so beaten up?? if we are rallying that day if the stock market is rallying and Chip stocks are rallying I think money will go into AMD. if we've got a 10-year that's knocking on 5% that day and we've got sell-offs in the market I think AMD will be taken outside behind the barn and shot. everybody seen it rally recently from 117 up so it has the institutional interest on weakness to accumulate it. so we're going to find out what the hell happens.. I would just be very cautious today cuz I think that sell off that we saw a half hour ago I think there's going to be another one coming going into a market where we're closed tomorrow

Strangely, AMD is perceived in a negative light when compared to competitors YET there aren’t that many companies around the world that has lasted for so long, so profitably.

it's not about what you have done it's what are you going to do tomorrow. you have to think of a company and a CEO like a picture in a baseball game nobody cares what you did last season nobody cares that you threw a no-hitter people only care how the seasons going how the game is going and how do you feel about next week's game that's all anybody cares about. if all you're doing is dwelling in the past oh I used to do this and I use to do that. that means you're doing nothing today and you have nothing planned for tomorrow.
