From blind dating to finding your match: How to decide on the stock for me?
Views 51K Contents 49

Age 7, I was given an opportunity

My uncle worked as a stockbroker and eventually became CFO of a large firm. I’d shown interest in his work and he said that if I researched companies and chose one, and later we met to discuss the investment from time to time that he would purchase a single share in an account for children. I read as best I could and stumbled on Graham. I learned that Warren Buffet was quite famous and successful and he looked like a nice man. The clincher was that BRKA shares cost A LOT apiece. So, I explained my reasoning and asked for a share. My uncle kept his word and I held the share until I was 24 and wanted to go to graduate school, travel and move to a different city. It allowed for all of the above and for me to start investing in my ROTH when I got my first real job. A wonderful experience, gifted by my favorite person :).
