Air travel on July 4 is expected to hit a record high

During the long holiday on July 4, a record number of Americans packed up their luggage and took off into the sky. The majority of travelers drive to their destinations, but large numbers of passengers also visit airports across the United States, and airline companies and airport staff are extremely busy.
TSA is seeing heavy crowds at airports
At airports across the United States, record heavy congestion is expected during the long holiday period on 7/4. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) expects to inspect more than 28 million travelers between 6/28 and 7/8, which is a 5.4% increase from last year's Independence Day holiday period.
The number of passengers peaked on 7/7 (Sun), and it is expected that more than 3 million people will be screened at over 430 airports. According to the automobile industry group AAA, more than 70 million people will travel domestically during these consecutive holidays, of which nearly 6 million will fly to their destinations. AAA spokesperson Andrew Gross says,
“I've never seen numbers like this. The number of travelers in 2024 seems to be equivalent to the number of travelers in 2020 without the pandemic”.
A few days ago, the TSA broke the record for the highest number of people screened per day, 2.99 million. This record will probably be broken next Sunday.
