Big disappointment in the market. Alibaba paying dividends. Why? If business is so good. If prospects are so good, they would be keeping the money for investments and growth. Why pay dividends? No use for the money for investments, for fuelling growth? Big disappointment in the market.

OceansWave : Actually the move to pay dividends by Jan 2024 is a move to entice investors to keep the stocks and decide after the dividend is pay out.. but I do agree.. this is a bad move and plan.. if you have more cash at hand and you are dealing with a difficult situation, you should use the cash at hand to do something more meaningful to expand the business
