AMD may adopt Samsung Foundry’s 3nm GAA? The findings are as follows:
1. $Advanced Micro Devices (AMD.US)$ and $Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (SSNLF.US)$ Foundry currently have no real progress on 3nm GAA.
2. Even if the two parties start to cooperate on 3nm GAA now, TSMC's 2nm will have already been mass-produced by the time it is mass-produced. It is better for AMD to invest resources in TSMC's 2nm products.
3. The potential cooperation project that AMD and Samsung Foundry are currently discussing is the use of 5nm I/O related chips, which may be used in AI servers using AMD's AI chip MI400 series. It has not yet been decided whether this project will be mass produced.
