"April 12 (Reuters) - Chinese officials had earlier this year directed the nation's largest telecom carriers to phase out foreign processors that are core to their networks by 2027, a move which would hit American chip giants Intel and Advanced Micro Devices, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday."
It is also strange that "foreign processors" only mean Intel & AMD. They will also exclude chips from Qualcomm, Broadcom, Samsung, Nokia, etc. There is also no mention of nVidia. nVidia is a powerhouse in datacentre networking technology.
I m not ignorant of the fact that China & US are playing punk with each other but articles/reports like this targetting only specific companies in a consistent fashion are obviously malicious.

Yes, I spend a lot of time reading abt companies, products, performance, management team, competition, etc before & when I invest. When I see something e.g. news/updates, I know what I m doing/saying/responding. In fact, I think all serious investors should do this. I don't know why this is hilarious to u.

From 2022 to 2023, among the 200,000 servers purchased by China's three major telecom carriers, domestically produced servers accounted for 26.7%, AMD accounted for 2.4%, and Intel accounted for 70%. So not much market shares for AMD to lose.
