anticipate Vs reactive
Powell was expected to speak about the inflation situation at Jackson Hole due to the long-awaited rate cuts and since recent data had been pointing towards a rate cut. (like what else is stopping the fed?!)
so cos of this, in lieu of how reits react to rate cuts, took a position in them before Jackson Hole, where price action may be irreversible.
this is a reit I intend to hold in my portfolio for the long-term unless its fundamentals are not as I thought or biz direction changes for the reit. otherwise, I'm pretty pleased with its holdings locations! a retail reit with most of its malls all located at train stations (mrts). I believe the prime spot will boost footfall to the tenants, ensuring a good tenant take-up rate/renewal.
how many of us usually walk into malls/shops at the MRTs whether for relaxation after work or just to find a quick snack/home essential/bbtea/drink?!
hence my view on this reit. but let's poll so it's not just my view but on actual data!
this price increase shows the rise since my entry two days before Jackson hole to present day. my only regret here is not getting jyeu before the rise as my buy tp was 0.1 cent lower haha.
