ARM is doing well so far
The consensus in this sub is that Arm shares are overpriced. That's probably true, but this is also a sub for high-risk gambling, $Arm Holdings(ARM.US$ The stock has risen nearly 200% since its IPO and has been rising steadily over the past quarter.
A bullish case:
Full market share advantage in the mobile market+ demand for more computing+ increased royalties over license fees = ARM's money-making engine
There is huge potential in the laptop market, as shown by the Apple M series and, more recently, Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon laptop processors. Since x86 lags far behind in terms of energy efficiency, $Intel(INTC.US$ with $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD.US$ We have no choice but to catch up.
Infrastructure: Everyone (literally everyone) is starting to adopt ARM processors for data center workloads. Significant growth in market penetration can be expected.
IoT, automotive, etc.: ARM still has an edge in these areas and has better and more modern IP for new applications.
AI: Everyone is desperately trying to incorporate AI into their products, and it's clear that it's closely tied to every other field, but the ARM+Nvidia combination is a clear winner across all sectors in this field.
Bearish case:
RISCV: Who cares? Nobody cares. This is because RISCV is an open ISA, and it is not a dedicated IP company that spends billions of dollars on research and development to maintain cutting-edge technology.
AI Hype: Appropriate
Too much: That might be the case when you consider a stable revenue premium due to a unique business model and significant growth opportunities
Intel and AMD are catching up: while these companies are struggling with x86, ARM is focusing on specific markets where their IP is quite advantageous
