ASTS options trade
ASTS has been my most exciting options trade. The strategy was to speculate on a small company that I found promising with efficient capital allocation and possibility of greatest reward in the shorter and longer term. I scaled into a share position as a base, these I will continue to hold indefinitely (unless something goes awry with the company.) I am trading shorter dated calls around catalysts such as earnings, partnership announcements and stellite delivery and launch. I did sell enough contracts to take out my initial investment, and some profit after the Verizon deal was announced. I will sell the remaining November calls as events unfold, and put the profits into more ASTS shares, other high conviction stocks and my next idea. I find LEAPS helpful for “bottom fishing,” buying them on low priced equities far into the future in hopes of success. This allows for a great deal of leverage OTM and high reward if all goes well. These ASTS LEAPS I will liquidate, roll and perhaps exercise according to what is most beneficial six months prior to expiration (with regard to taxes and overall positioning.) I am using this strategy currently to build a similar position in Aurora Innovation $Aurora Innovation (AUR.US)$ shares, November 2026 warrants, December calls to trade over near term catalysts and January 2026 LEAPS for longterm speculation.
