The $S&P/ASX 200(.XJO.AU$ rose 0.4 per cent, or 28 points, to 7305 at the closing bell, following the weaker than expected wages data which bolstere the case for the Reserve Bank to leave the cash rate unchanged.
The healthcare sector was the best performer, rallying 3.2 per cent. Cochlear shares climbed 5.7 per cent after it reported a 4 per cent rise in statutory profits to $301 million for the full year.
Blood plasma collector $CSL Ltd(CSL.AU$ added 3.7 per cent, after a 10 per cent rise in its full-year underlying profit to $US2.61 billion ($4 billion).
The interest rate-sensitive technology sector added 1.7 per cent. $WiseTech Global Ltd(WTC.AU$ rose 1.3 per cent, $Xero Ltd(XRO.AU$ was up 2 per cent and $Nextdc Ltd(NXT.AU$ jumped 1.2 per cent.
$Life360 Inc(360.AU$ surged 12.3 per cent after its revenue increased 45 per cent year-on-year to $US70.8 million ($109.1 million).
$GUD Holdings Ltd(GUD.AU$ jumped 14.9 per cent. The car parts producer boosted its statutory net profit by 252 per cent to $98.6 million in 2022-23, helped along by a large acquisition.
