AU Evening Wrap: ASX Falls for Fourth Day; Miners Sink

$S&P/ASX 200 (.XJO.AU)$ ended 0.5% lower at 7451.5, notching its fourth straight day of losses as the December rally looks to be petering out.

Some banks were also weaker, as stronger-than-anticipated U.S. jobs data weighed on rate-cut sentiment. Australia's largest lender, $CommBank (CBA.AU)$, fell 0.9%, while $National Australia Bank Ltd (NAB.AU)$ lost 0.2%. Financial company $Macquarie Group Ltd (MQG.AU)$ dropped 0.8%.

$Core Lithium Ltd (CXO.AU)$ was the session's worst performer and continued its downward trajectory, falling 17%. Other lithium miners also did poorly, with $Liontown Resources Ltd (LTR.AU)$ dropping 2.5% and $Pilbara Minerals Ltd (PLS.AU)$ closing 2.8% lower.
