AU Evening Wrap: ASX Slips But Ends the Week 0.2% Higher

The $S&P/ASX 200 (.XJO.AU)$ slipped 0.2 per cent on Friday, with investors cautious amid renewed worries about the global economic outlook, but ended the week 0.2 per cent higher.
Energy stocks heavily weighed on the main index with a 2 per cent retreat as investors booked profit after oil prices on Thursday climbed to their highest this year.
Shares in gaming group The Star Entertainment had their best day in three years. They vaulted 18 per cent to $1.15 in be the biggest daily increase since March 2020 after securing a tax reprieve from the NSW government.
The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 Index eased 17.3 points, or 0.2 per cent, at 7340.1 at the closing bell. The All Ordinaries also shed 0.2 per cent at 7,554.2.
BlueScope Steel was among the biggest losers, down 3.6 per cent. It signed off on a $415 million expansion of its coated metal products factory in Sydney.
$Baby Bunting Group Ltd (BBN.AU)$ fell 1.9 per cent after slashing profit and dividends and announcing drastic cost-cuts.
$Nick Scali Ltd (NCK.AU)$ leapt 13.3 per cent following a record net profit of $101.1 million.
