AU Evening Wrap: Australia Shares Fall 0.1% but Eke Out Weekly Gain
$S&P/ASX 200 (.XJO.AU)$ fell 0.1%, closing at 7498.3, but it still managed to post a gain of 0.1% for the week.
Utility shares fell 1.4% and consumer staples shed 1.2%, though energy stocks balanced that out somewhat with a 0.5% rise.
Healthcare company $Healius Ltd (HLS.AU)$ declined 7.6%, the worst-performing stock in the index, while $Core Lithium Ltd (CXO.AU)$ rallied 7.7%. The index is still down 1.2% for 2024 after posting a loss last week.
