The energy sector led the gains, driven by a surge in oil prices following heightened tensions in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The $S&P/ASX 200 (.XJO.AU)$ climbed 0.89% to 8397, coming within 50 points of the all-time closing high reached on Tuesday. Among the 11 sectors, technology was the only laggard, weighed down by a steep drop in WiseTech shares. This logistics software company revised its FY25 revenue and earnings forecasts downward, contributing to the sector's decline.
