AU Market Watch
At the open, Australian shares rose 0.2%, driven by gains in the tech sector. However, $Telstra Group Ltd (TLS.AU)$, a major telco, fell by 4% after announcing job cuts and hosting an analyst on Tuesday. Iron ore miners, including $Fortescue Ltd (FMG.AU)$, which rose 1.7%, and $Rio Tinto Ltd (RIO.AU)$, which firmed 1.3%, saw gains as prices for the steel making ingredient rose by 2.1% to $120.95 a tonne overnight.

Brent crude fell by 0.8% to $83.08 per barrel
