At 11:30 a.m., the nation is set to disclose its monthly Consumer Price Index (CPI) indicator. Most market analysts forecast an uptick in the inflation rate to 3.8% on an annual basis, a slight increase from the 3.6% escalation recorded in April.
In anticipation of the impending data, $ANZ Group Holdings Ltd(ANZ.AU)$'s market analysis indicates that bond traders are factoring in the Reserve Bank of Australia's initial interest rate reduction to occur by July 2025. Additionally, there appears to be a subtle 16% probability of an interest rate hike by September 2024.
ASX 200 futures are currently trading at 7,791.5, down by 9 points, indicating a 0.12% decrease.
