Hello mooers!!!
Welcome back to AU Weekly Buzz, where we review the news, performance, and community sentiment of the top ten buzzing stocks on moomoo based on search and message volumes! Comment below to answer the Weekly Topic question for a chance to win an award!
Let's dive into the buzzing stocks last week:
Aussie Weekly Buzz: A week of ups and downs for meme stocks
NVDA Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
$NVIDIA(NVDA.US)$surged last week, jumping as much as 14.6%, according to data supplied by moomoo.
The catalysts that sent the semiconductor specialist higher were intriguing developments in the field of AI and a highly anticipated stock split.
Nvidia took center stage at the Computex trade show in Taiwan last week, as CEO Jensen Huang delivered the keynote address. Of interest to investors was Huang's announcement that Nvidia has accelerated its product upgrade cycle. This has significant implications for Nvidia's future success.
@Capoo:  For the casual investor that are thinking and can only get a few shares,  with the shorts created by the big player. Probably best stock to buy now, look for the lows created by the market and get in. With Nvidia making 700% profit this year compare to last and making Tesla, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Meta their customer. Blackwell incoming soon will blow it out the water. This is the bluechip of bluechip stock.
GME Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
$GameStop(GME.US)$soared over 47% last Thursday after Keith Gill, who goes by "Roaring Kitty" and was one of the key players in the 2020 and 2021 meme-stock craze, scheduled his first YouTube livestream in more than three years.
Shares of the the video game retailer closed down 39% on Friday for their worst day since Feb. 4, 2021, even after Keith Gill, the meme trader known as Roaring Kitty, used a livestream on Friday to reiterate his bullish position on the stock.
@Justin Brewer: Ryan Cohen owns 36.5 million shares of GME, and he knows Roaring Kitty is the company’s most valuable player in the retail community. I have no doubt that there will be some major news and moves by both these guys between now and June 21st.
TSLA Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
$Tesla(TSLA.US)$ is among the mega-cap tech stocks that have seen the most downside this year. Shares of TSLA stock are down more than 30% on a year-to-date basis today. They were moving lower last week on the news surrounding the upcoming shareholder vote on CEO Elon Musk’s compensation.
Analysts are also growing wary of what this shareholder vote will portend for the stock. On this news, investors are growing increasingly pessimistic about the company’s outlook in the event Elon Musk shifts more of his time away from the U.S.-based EV maker.
@Randominvestor: Musk's compensation isn't just about dollars; it's about shaping Tesla's destiny and soul. As shareholders, we are not just passive observers but active participants in this journey. Our votes on his pay package are a direct reflection of our belief in his vision and our commitment to Tesla's future.
AAPL Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
$Apple(AAPL.US)$ closed at $196.89 in the last Friday, marking a +1.24% move from the prior day. The stock outperformed the S&P 500, which registered a daily loss of 0.11%. Meanwhile, the Dow experienced a drop of 0.22%, and the technology-dominated Nasdaq saw a decrease of 0.23%.
The the stock of maker of iPhones, iPads and other products has risen by 5.37% in the past month, lagging the Computer and Technology sector's gain of 6.52% and overreaching the S&P 500's gain of 3.51%.
@102155021: Technical surface of the previous consecutive consolidation retracement, there is a rebound effect of the oversold, but the overall market needs a certain repair cycle, you can temporarily hold.
AMC Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐
$AMC Entertainment(AMC.US)$ shed 15.2% to close at $4.91 in the wake of GME's fall last Friday.
AMC declined even as the theater chain announced that it will offer eight ways to save money on movie tickets this summer.Ellen Copaken, senior vice president of marketing, highlighted various discounts and programs to make movies more affordable and accessible.
@Ken Griffin Charity: What’s RK going to do next? How many times will RC dilute? Who’s going to get lucky? Who’s going to get left holding the bag? Good luck to everyone here.
AMD Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐
$Advanced Micro Devices(AMD.US)$ gained over 42% in the last six months.Analysts tout AMD as the second most significant beneficiary after Nvidia. AMD recently highlighted gaining a 33% market share in the server CPU market in the first-quarter, up from ~8% in 2020.
According to the analyst, AMD and Samsung are currently discussing leveraging 5-nm for AMD’s AI chip MI400 series.
@Deep Sea: If the upcoming and subsequent quarter earnings can meet or exceed expectations, the justification of stock price going higher Is warranted.Since Nvidia and AMD are number 1 and 2 in AI chip, they are competing for the leader position and market share. Then we might as well own both stocks. Whoever wins the race, we, the investors, will still be the winner.
BHP Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐
$BHP Group Ltd(BHP.US)$shares inched down 0.95% to £23.04 Friday, on what proved to be an all-around grim trading session for the stock market.
BHP closed £4.04 below its 52-week high (£27.08), which the company reached on December 28.
BHP Group is heading into mediation with union leaders in Chile in a bid to avoid a strike as this year’s surge in copper prices inflates the bottom lines of producers and expectations of their employees.
@gbsurfer:The problem is that BHP wants big deposits, but these days they rarely line up with stable tier 1 jurisdictions. Best bet probably is the under-explored arctic north of Canada (or greenland if not for politics).
Then you run into the issues of tier 1 jurisdictions having anti-mining policies....
TSM Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐
$Taiwan Semiconductor(TSM.US)$ have hit a record high, driven by a jump in demand for artificial intelligence (AI) chips. TSM stock hit a new 52-week high of $163.73 on June 5. Moreover, it is up about 2% in Thursday’s pre-market session.
Overall, TSM stock is up about 57% year-to-date. This rise in TSM stock follows a rally in shares of Nvidia stock. It’s worth noting that NVDA is a major customer of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company or TSMC.
@Noah Johnson: Where is the confidence for TSMC to raise prices?
1. Advanced processes are irreplaceable, and technological advantages are far ahead.
2. AI The demand is very strong, and the production capacity is in short supply.
What's more interesting is that TSMC not only has the confidence to raise prices downstream but also has the confidence to lower prices upstream. Investing in a company with confidence really gives a sense of security.
MSFT Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐⭐
$Microsoft(MSFT.US)$ clawed back most of last week’s move lower, putting them back into double-digit territory quarter to date. Last week, Microsoft issued new updates across Microsoft’s Azure AI Services including Azure AI Studio being available as a key component of the Microsoft Copilot stack, and available in Azure AI Studio and as an API. We continue to follow reports that a bipartisan group of four U.S. senators, led by majority leader Chuck Schumer, have called for at least $32 billion in congressional spending on artificial intelligence over the next three years to “harness the opportunities and address the risks” associated with the technology. We see this as another potential tailwind for MSFT shares. We also see Microsoft’s PC and tablet business benefitting from the looming AI-on-device upgrade cycle.
@JonSnow: advantage here, the effects of AI have direct impact in companies.Increasing productivity immediately.
BTC Buzzing Stars: ⭐⭐
Bitcorn has briefly crossed the $72,000 psychological mark on Friday, June 07th, 2024, just to experience a flash sell-off to $68,420. The rapid sell-off could have been caused by better-than-expected employment results in the US, indicating the Fed may have more time to keep rates unchanged. It also could have been affected by future options expiry amounting to around $2.2B, including around $1.2B expiring at around $69,500.
@10baggerbamm: the daily charts on bitcoin are extremely bullish we're riding above the highest moving average on the Bollinger band The weekly it looks like it's going to make a move to 79,100 within the next couple of weeks it that's literally to me what I would see if there's some positive indication that the economy slowing the jobs are slowing that unemployment is rising then the FED is going to be more inclined to cut that is extremely bullish for stocks and Bitcoin is now tagged as a risk on asset class and we would make a push towards $79,100.

  • mr_cashcow : Thanks again for the reward pointsundefined

As someone who holds $Tesla (TSLA.US)$ shares I am a bit conflicted by the pay packageundefined

On one hand Elon Musk's $56 billion Tesla pay package is excessive and unfair to stakeholders. On the other Elon Musk has indeed delivered significant growth and stockholder value. Hence feelings conflictedundefined

And recently he even ordered chipmaker Nvidia to divert a $500 million shipment of AI-powered chips originally bound for Tesla to his companies X and AI startup xAIundefined

  • 102362254 : As an investor, opinions on Elon Musk's $56 billion Tesla pay package vary. Some view it as justified due to his pivotal role in Tesla's growth, while others find it excessive. Ultimately, shareholders must weigh its impact on the company's performance and governance. Personally, I support.

  • ZnWC : I have shared a few articles about Elon Musk's (EM) 2018 Tesla Pay package. This is the latest one which I explained in 7 reasons why I supported proposals 3 and 4.  Proposal 3 is to ratify the pay package and proposal 4 is to redomesticate Tesla from Delaware to Texas. Both are equally important and if they are voted down, it will have grave consequences to the company's future. One of which is EM may resign as CEO. The other is the Delaware Court may rescind the pay package again and Tesla shareholders need to pay legal fees to the lawyer which I think it is wrong.

Tomorrow (12 June 2024) is the last day to cast your vote online. Don't let the hedge fund and bank managers or proxy advisors (Glass Lewis and ISS) make this important decision for you. Retail investors hold about 42% of the vote which can swing the outcome either way. There is no right or wrong about this voting, only consequences - the value of TSLA stock you are holding.

There's a misconception that the stock may be "diluted" if EM takes the pay package and leaves. This is not true. Despite what the proxy advisor said, this compensation is not a ‘$52 billion cash bonus’. It is a share options scheme, giving EM the option to buy an allocation of Tesla shares at a discounted share price of $23. The options are not exercisable for 5 years which can motivate EM to stay at Tesla for the long term. The options have already been allocated and WILL NOT cause dilution to existing shareholders.

  • Ken Griffin Charity : I wrote a detailed DD post breaking down GME and instead I got quoted for a joke post about the gambling addicts undefined

  • DouGiee : Lmao meme stocks

  • terrabyte : nvidia all the way
