Let's dive into the buzzing stocks last week!
Aussie Weekly Buzz: Market heated up. Are you ready?
1. NVDA  Buzzing Star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
$NVIDIA(NVDA.US)$ gained 1.4% on last Friday and 2.71% for the last week. Its upcoming GeForce RTX 5090 gaming graphics card is potentially making it one of the fastest on the market. Nancy Pelosi was also witnessed buying NVIDIA stocks once more. KeyBanc analysts have also increased their target price for the company, signaling a positive outlook. Amidst this, NVIDIA is engaged in a market value competition with tech giants Apple and Microsoft, as they all aim to reach the coveted four trillion dollar valuation mark
2. TSLA  Buzzing Star ⭐⭐⭐⭐
$Tesla (TSLA.US)$ ended 8.4% lower at $241.03, snapping its 11-day winning streak on July 11. However, it got back on Friday. Plus, due to the shooting stuff about Trump and Elon Musk's public endorsement of this candidate, the price upwards again.
3. AAPL  Buzzing Star ⭐⭐⭐⭐
$Apple(AAPL.US)$ hit a record $231.06 last week, pushing its market value to $3.5 trillion and reclaiming its top spot. Confidence in the new iPhone 16 and the AI impact, Apple is expected to ship 90 million units this year.
4. AMD  Buzzing Star ⭐⭐⭐⭐
$Advanced Micro Devices(AMD.US)$ surged as the company announced plans to acquire AI startup Silo AI for approximately $665 million in an all-cash deal last Wednesday, aiming to gain the capabilities needed to catch up with NVIDIA.
5. TSM  Buzzing Star ⭐⭐⭐
Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, and Morningstar analysts raised their price targets for $Taiwan Semiconductor(TSM.US)$ due to rising AI semiconductor demand. As the sole supplier of key chips for Apple and NVIDIA, TSM is a top pick for AI investors. Wall Street brokerages cited soaring AI demand and potential 2025 price hikes as reasons for the bullish outlook.

6. BHP  Buzzing Star ⭐⭐⭐
$BHP Group Ltd(BHP.AU)$ plans to temporarily suspend operations at its Nickel West and West Musgrave projects from October, citing oversupply in the global nickel market. The halt will be reviewed in February 2027, with BHP investing $300 million annually for potential future operations.
7. FUTU  Buzzing Star ⭐⭐⭐
After the Wealth Management business surpassed $10 billion in AUM, $Futu Holdings Ltd(FUTU.US)$ announced uplift of Type 1 License to include virtual asset dealing service on July 8, 2024.
8. AMZN  Buzzing Star ⭐⭐⭐
Jeff Bezos sold another large batch of $Amazon(AMZN.US)$ shares, raising millions of cash. Despite AWS showcased its AI growth and services at its NYC summit, the market viewed Amazon as trailing behind Microsoft and Google in AI. This perception, along with Bezos's significant share sales, is likely causing the stock price to decline.
AWS flexed its underappreciated AI toolkit at its NYC summit as AI/ML has grown to a multi-billion dollar run-rate business for AMZN. While consensus believes that AMZN lags behind its mega-cap peers in AI capabilities, AMZN highlighted that it has launched over two times the number of AI services than  $Microsoft(MSFT.US)$ and  $Alphabet-A(GOOGL.US)$ combined since 2023. We believe investors are underestimating AMZN’s positioning to win its fair share of AI workloads and believe its platform approach with Bedrock will be a winning strategy over the long term.
9. MSFT  Buzzing Star ⭐⭐⭐
Last week, $Microsoft(MSFT.US)$ price experienced a volatile decline, with a single-day drop of nearly 2.5%. This pullback could be a good buying opportunity for investors.

10. META  Buzzing Star ⭐⭐
$Meta Platforms(META.US)$ delivered a strong Q1 with revenue up 27.3%, adjusted EPS doubling to $4.71, and improved margins. Strategic transformations, including layoffs, boosted efficiency and stock performance.

Ah yes the apple of my eyes, $Apple (AAPL.US)$ have a very strong royal base paired with a strong ecosystem and their highly anticipated Aiphones I see a very big upside once it is released and fans are forced to upgrade to the new models[undefined][undefined]Analyst are all drooling over the prospect of new and improve phone with AI capabilities[undefined]

As of today, $Apple (AAPL.US)$ is generally considered a "Buy" by most analysts. The average 12-month price target is around $226.83, with estimates ranging from $164 to $300. And I’m holding it!

Positive factors include upcoming AI initiatives and a new iPhone upgrade cycle, expected to drive growth

Despite the current price being slightly above the average target, the overall analyst sentiment remains bullish.

The short answer is Yes, Apple stock is a good buy. The long answer is it depends on your risk appetite.

I consider the stock a value worth investing for longer term. The CEO is forward looking and the company has a strong brand and moats. The partnership with OpenAI has a positive outlook.

Having said the above, I caution if you are thinking of picking some profit from swing trading. You should expect some pull back/correction. Some may consider the products are losing market share (in China and India) and facing a decline in competitiveness.

I always tell myself whatever investment you make, do it within your means. You shouldn't "all in" your savings (YOLO buy) or buy a stock based on hearsay (herd mentality/ FOMO buy).

  • Mr Long Term : I can’t thank you enough.[undefined]

  • 102362254 : Yes, I believe Apple is still a strong buy. Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway has a substantial stake in Apple, which is his largest investment. This endorsement underscores Apple's resilience and ongoing potential for success. With its solid fundamentals, commitment to innovation, and strong investor confidence, Apple continues to be a compelling investment option for me.
