Australia wins five-week paper-trading challenge, global winner earns 557% return

Moomoo's global paper-trading challenge is over. We wrapped it up at the end of last week, after five weeks of gruelling competition between more than 150,000 entrants across seven world markets.

And the winning market, as determined by profitability? It was Australia. And Singapore. A tie between the two, where 57% of participants ended the challenge with a net gain in their virtual portfolio. And coming in at third place was Canada.

Remember, the challenge was based on trading in the US market, to make it an accessible and level playing field for all entrants in the seven world markets where moomoo operates. For those curious, the most-traded stocks across the five weeks were Tesla, followed by Nvidia and then Trump Media and Technology.

While the Aussies did a great job as a whole, individually we didn't place among the top 10 or 20 or even top 30. Clearly, we're making solid investment decisions, but not spectacular ones.

The individual global leader of the challenge earned a total return across the five weeks of 557%, with the second-ranked entrant gaining 519% and in third place the participant gained 479%. Not sure yet what markets those winners are from, but we'll share the news when we get it. In contrast, the lead Australian for the challenge ended up with 261% in total gains.

For those of us at moomoo, we were thrilled with the engagement and enthusiasm of our users. So many of you entered the competition and shared your progress in our community pages. There was a vibrancy to the challenge and the way entrants responded that felt very optimistic. Maybe the total US$200,000 in prizes helped, but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
