Australian government announces $2bn top secret partnership with Amazon (AWS)

Outlined in today's media release, the Albanese Government announced it will invest at least $2bn in order to improve Australia's cyber capabilities.

In addition, Amazon Web Services (AWS) will be heavily contributing to delivering a "Top Secret (TS) Cloud" for the Australian government.

This TS Cloud will be built specifically for Australia’s Defence and National Intelligence Community agencies, and will securely store Australia's most sensitive data.

Albanese commented that, “this important investment today will help enhance our national security capabilities while creating up to 2,000 local jobs."

This partnership with AWS is also major investment from the Albanese Government, and is another milestone in implementing his 2024 National Defence Strategy.
