Automatic dividend reinvestment and fractional share purchasing
Not everyone is a growth investor. I prefer looking for stocks from healthy companies that have a track record of paying and increasing dividends, and want to be able to grow my investment by reinvesting that dividend income into more pieces of the company. It would be nice to do this automatically, and to be able to purchase part of a share if the dividend payment isn’t large enough to acquire another whole share at once (or if the share price is too high to acquire a whole share in one purchase).
It’s not as flashy or exciting as other investment methods, but reinvesting dividends helps me on the path for income and stability, even if the share price dips here and there along the way.
