Bank of America Shares

On July 18, local time, the US Treasury released the International Capital Flows Report (TIC) for May 2024.

According to the report, the total net income from all overseas US long-term and short-term securities and bank flows in May was 15.8 billion US dollars, of which net inflow of overseas private capital was 7.3 billion US dollars and the net inflow of overseas official capital was 8.6 billion US dollars.

Foreign investors' holdings of long-term US securities fell by $16.7 billion in May. Among them, US long-term securities held by foreign private investors decreased by 17.7 billion US dollars, and the holdings of US long-term securities by foreign official institutions increased by 1 billion US dollars. Foreign long-term securities held by US investors increased by $37.8 billion in May.

If US stocks purchased through stock swaps in overseas portfolios are taken into account, the total net amount of US long-term securities held by foreign investors is estimated to have decreased by $54.6 billion in May.

In May, US Treasury bonds held by foreign investors decreased by $9.8 billion, and all US short-term securities and other escrow bonds held by foreign investors increased by $4.7 billion.

Bank of America's net debt to foreign investors in dollars increased by $65.7 billion.
