While most members of the Bank of Japan policy committee supported additional interest rate hikes, assuming that the economy and prices were changing as expected, a small number of members argued that careful consideration was necessary since there was a lot of data showing a downturn in the economy.

えいきちちゃん : Overwhelmingly many hawks with 9 members on the committee and only 2 opposing interest rate hikes^^;. I mean, it's strange in itself that interest rate hikes have gone up the heat of discussion. I think it was a difficult decision considering public opinion, but I wanted an explanation that would be reasonable in terms of logic.
