For Aus 365÷7×38×24.10 = $47,752.42
For USA 365÷7×38×7.25×1.51 = $21,691.68
I recognise that there's a lot of people not getting full time hours despite wanting them, so it is not representative of everyone, but a generalisation. I think it's worse in the US where some companies only offer people part time hours to avoid paying healthcare (company policy, not legislated). Despite only offering part time hours they still expect full time availability....
In Aus you'd pay approx $6k income tax on that which brings it close to double what a min wage earner would take home post tax in the USA (can't be bothered finding USA tax rates for states that have $7.25 min wage).
