Wonder : diversification is protection agst ignorance per Warren Buffet. For novice investors not versed to cherry pick undervalued good quality companies, he recommends simple index funds like S&P index fund which itself offers diversification across sectors and more importantly invests into companies of top companies.

I rmb he said pple diversify when they dun understand or have knowledge abt what they are investing in...so they spread their risk. something to this effect. he did say 10-20 stocks wld be enough for diversification then I realised oh actually ok lah. still quite well diversified if 10-20
. but yes, guess he was referring to those who buy aimlessly and blindly cos they dunno what worth the companies that they investing in have
Wonder toomanyscammers: diversification still necessary across asset classes. To hedge agst cyclical risk too. but i suppose if can pick a few quality stocks n holding long term for life the returns may far outdo chasing the assets cycles.
