Biden grants nearly $2 billion in grants to expand production of electric vehicles
The Biden administration announced $1.7 billion in grants to auto plants in eight states on Thursday to support the transition to clean car manufacturing.
According to the statement, this subsidy will create high-wage labor union manufacturing employment on a scale of several thousand people, and promote reorganization, strengthening, and re-employment in the communities where factories operate.
“These grants will help ensure that the future of the auto industry is made in America by American union workers. I will never stop fighting for the American auto industry and American auto workers,” US President Joe Biden said in a statement.
