10baggerbamm : all right number one Nvidia makes investments and dozens of companies every year Nvidia is a cash register they could buy back their stock if they wanted to they've got plenty of cash they have plenty for r&D so what they are doing a portion of it is they are making investments in tomorrow's companies they give them seed money and they take an equity stake. not all of them work out not all of them are going to go public many of them will never go public some will be acquired some will go to zero
