Buffett started selling this stock like crazy in July, cashing out 30.2 billion.
(New York, 6th) Buffett began selling Bank of America shares in mid-July. $Bank of America (BAC.US)$ stocks until September, and sold a total of 6.97 billion US dollars (about 30.2 billion ringgit).
In the latest round of trading documents disclosed by the regulatory agency on Thursday, his Berkshire company has sold a total of 0.76 billion US dollars of Bank of America stock since Tuesday.
Nevertheless, Berkshire remains the largest shareholder of Bank of America, holding approximately 11% of the shares valued at 34.7 billion US dollars based on the latest closing price.
If Berkshire continues to sell shares of the second largest bank in the United States, the shareholding percentage may soon fall below the 10% regulatory threshold (must disclose trading details within a few days).
At the age of 94, Buffett established Berkshire's investment in Bank of America in 2011 through a $5 billion preferred stock and warrants transaction. After increasing its holding of the bank's stock for many years and praising the bank's leadership, Buffett did not publicly explain the decision to sell the stock.
