EZ_money 72973431 : i put my gold in a vault at home. it's not hard to hide gold is so dense and heavy 5 ounce bars or 1 ounce coins are easy to stack and hide.

OP stated crypto can't preserve its value when there's a power supply disruption. I'd say the same would apply for any other non-consumables if it were to happen in this modern era. Without power supply I don't think we have enough resources to feed the current population. Resource will be scarce. You can have all my gold/silver/cash, I'd prefer to hold onto whatever crops/poultry as much as I could get my hands on.
EZ_money 103787608 : yes, real assets land, homes, but gold and silver fits in....if the electricity goes out barter for goods will start in silver. some businesses in the United States are already accepting silver as payment because they want to hoard it themselves.
