After a slow start, the S&P 500 was close to flat at the end of Wednesday. The major index climbed mid-day but then fell back to nearly unchanged. Bitcoin broke through all-time highs today before it too fell back to below $90k.
The Consumer Price Index, a classic sign of inflation, showed that prices grew 2.6% year over year in October, about 0.2% higher than in September. Core CPI remained at 3.3%, excluding food and gas, right near where it has been for the past six months or so.
Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis President Neel Kashkari said the top figures from the latest consumer price report confirm inflation is headed down toward the central bank’s 2% target.
In macroeconomics this week, look for Fed speakers finally taking to the airwaves to talk about monetary policy, a week after cutting rates by 25 bps. Powell will speak on Thursday. Also, watch for Producer Price Index inflation numbers on Thursday.

$Spirit Airlines (SAVE.US)$shares plunged 56% on Wednesday after the company filed Form 12b-25, stating to the SEC it would not be able to file its current report, and instead would focus on restructuring debt.
$Rocket Lab (RKLB.US)$climbed 28% after the tiny rocket firm reported better-than-expected earnings.
