R30R : One of the biggest challenges (for me at times too) is to secure profit. Without sounding preachy, look for the bottoms to buy unless the trend is just starting to move upwards. Sell if the RSI indicates overbought (even if you miss 5-10% of the price moving up before it comes down) and if the MA indicators you use cross downwards. Re enter when the trend changes bullish.
I know it is easier said than done but securing profits is very essential to building wealth. It is a brutal lesson I am learning the hard way too. Sorry about the money you are down currently.
