Budget 25 annoucement

The MADANI gov will announce budget 2025 on Oct 18 Friday, it will likely be streamed live on YouTube, as investors I do encourage all to watch even if you're not investing, it wud b nice to know what kinda of tax relief we gonna get and start collecting receipts

My personal wishlist from investment standpoint :

1. Revise windfall tax for plantation sector and encourage more investments in it - the plantation sector has been a laggard in terms of performance the only sector thats hasnt done well (apart from reits)

2. More investments into semiconductor - as we knw the madani gov is pushing for more investments into semicon esp in the form of human capital aka talents, hope we get more details on goodies on it soon

3. More clarity on plans to attract investors into bursa - as we all knw, bursa has under performed its peers since 1997 AFC, even most msian shuns bursa, hopefully there will be incentives and initiatives to encourage companies to be more transparent and also to enable a more vibrant capital market

Those are just some of what im looking forward to, if u guys have any pls suggest below

Ultraboom OP : Yes the petrol subsidy removal needs more clarity, the tax rate I think shud lower it for lower income and increase for higher income to balance subsidy removal, I personally like them to just remove sugar subsidy cos obesity rate in msia is very high
