Do you think it's right for the big boys to get the CEO of gamestop to make a surprise earnings announcement just to kill the stock. And just so that you know, it is very likely they have heavy short positions in GME. What the suits did is manipulation without a doubt!

Yes but that money is then locked up and can't be used elsewhere. if stock tanks then you have unrealized losses and then you lose liquidity that if you do sell are forced to take a loss. So yes, you can very much lose if you never sell. Look at all the holders of AMC that are down 90% plus due to dilution and splits. unrealized losses are still losses if you can't use the liquidity to make additional moves.
