I think, if rebalancing is indeed the reason, it could explain why the stock price drops ... major funds were selling NVIDIA (after it's meteoric rise), then buying other things (Magnificent 7s?).
Which I observed to be on the rise in tandem of Nvidia went down.
Maniac Fool OP 104063221 : The rebalancing or rotation of theme stocks is common at the end of each quarter for window dressing so that it looks nice on the books for the funds/trust funds. Nvidia is prone to consolidation after each rise or fall since last year Oct/Nov when I started playing it. Just like $Tesla (TSLA.US)$ and now $Super Micro Computer (SMCI.US)$ too.

on the non Nvidia, Amazon Meta and to some extent Google had unexplainable drops last night ... maybe also same last min rebalancing reason by big funds.
or these 3 were impacted by 2 grandpa debating in USA
