BYD enters Estonia, local deliveries to start in early 2025

BYD has entered the Estonian passenger car market, further expanding its European footprint.
The first 2 BYD stores in Estonia, built by the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker in partnership with international dealership group Inchcape Motors, opened on Dec 11 in the capital Tallinn and the second-largest city of Tartu, according to an announcement.
The company introduced 4 models -- BYD Seal, Song Plus EV, Song Plus DM-i, and Dolphin -- to local consumers and started their pre-sales in Estonia on Dec 11.
The Song Plus EV was rebranded in Estonia as Seal U, while the Song Plus DM-i was rebranded as Seal U DM-i. In some other overseas markets including Thailand, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan, the Song Plus DM-i was rebranded as Sealion 6.
BYD will begin first deliveries to customers in Estonia in early 2025, according to the company.
BYD is now actively expanding its business in Europe and will continue to work with local partners, including Inchcape, to meet consumer demand for green mobility, said Michael Shu, BYD's European managing director.
BYD officially announced its entry into the European passenger car market at the end of Sep 2022, and has so far launched 8 NEV models in more than 20 European countries.
