BYD sells record 341,658 NEVs in Jun, PHEVs hit another record high

BYD saw record new energy vehicle (NEV) sales last month, putting second-quarter sales at an all-time high.

BYD's passenger BEVs sold 426,039 units in the second quarter, up 20.98% year-on-year and up 41.96% from the first quarter. In contrast, Tesla delivered 443,956 units which is down about 5% year-on-year.

The company sold 341,658 NEVs in Jun, surpassing the previous record of 341,043 vehicles in Dec 2023, according to figures it released.

That's up 35.02% from 253,046 in the same period last year and up 2.97% from 331,817 in May.

BYD's NEVs include passenger cars as well as commercial vehicles, with passenger NEVs selling 340,211 units in Jun, up 35.17% year-on-year and up 2.94% from May.

BYD sold 145,179 units of passenger BEVs in Jun, up 13.25% year-on-year but down 0.83% from May.

It sold 195,032 passenger PHEVs in Jun, its fourth consecutive record high since Mar. That's up 57.93% year-on-year and up 5.94% from May.

In the second quarter, BYD sold a record 982,747 passenger NEVs, up 40.34% year-on-year and up 57.39% from the first quarter.

Passenger PHEVs sold 556,708 units in the second quarter, up 59.94% year-on-year and up 71.67% from the first quarter.

BYD sold 105,505 NEVs in overseas markets in the second quarter, up 196.65% year-on-year and up 7.77% from the first quarter.
